some words of wisdom from my Mom

I would like to share with you something that was written by my Mom on our Good Morning Girls Facebook page.

Today i read Proverbs c.17. I love the book of Proverbs, there is so much wisdom in this book.We learn in this chapter that there is a similarity between the intense heat that purifies gold and silver and the purification of a christian. It takes the heat of trials for us to be purified.Through these trials God shows us what is in us and takes out whatever gets in the way of our complete trust in him. This is how God purifies our heart. We learn that if we make fun of poor people who may have less than we do and live in poorer circumstance, we are actually making fun of God who made them. When we make fun of others in any way, even if we are just fooling around, we are ridiculing God who created them.We learn we must always be ready to forgive anothers faults. They are not to be brought up even in an argument. If we want to grow in Christ, we must forget the confessed sins of the past. What kind of friend are we? the greatest evidence of genuine friendship is loyalty.Being there to help when a friend is stressed or struggling. So many people are friends when it is beneficial or easy for them, but when the other person needs them they are gone. We should try to be the true friend God wants us to be.We should be cheerful, giving others a word of encouragement, enthused about helping and having a positive outlook. Our goals should be set on what God wants;wisdom, honesty, patience and love. These are the goals that determine our eternal future. Finally, if we are wise we will practice being quiet and listening, especially if we have nothing worthwhile to say. If we listen and learn, we gain something in common with those who are wiser. Think and listen before you speak, so when you do speak you will have something important to say.
