Owls are so cute! An Amazon haul.

Owls have become super popular lately. Maybe not real owls specifically but owls on clothes, owl jewelry, owl home decor... owls are everywhere! ( how many times can I say owl in this post goodness! ha ha) I personally think they are adorable and have seen some super cute decorations for our home I would love to get that are owl. ( If only Target would lower their prices... and I had money ha!)
Before Christmas while ordering the Hubs a gift I came across some of the cutest owl necklaces on Amazon. At only .90-$1.20 I asked the Hubs if I could order them for my stocking. Shipping was free with Amazon prime which made it an even better deal. :)

The first one I bought was this vintage style colorful owl charm necklace.

Isn't it precious. It is pretty big yet dainty looking.  The owl is about 1 1/2 inches long. The quality seems solid and it comes on a nice chain for the money.

It is selling on Amazon right now for only $1.00!! plus free shipping even without Amazon prime.

Great Deal!

Next up is the vintage style owl pendent long bronze necklace.
This necklace is heavy but not in an uncomfortable-to-wear way but in a really-great-quality-for-an- amazing-price way. The chain on this one is the shortest out of the three ordered and falls just at chest level.

This one is selling for $1.36 also with free shipping, no prime required!

Lastly is the Silver color Textured Owl Pendant

The chain on this one is much longer then the others and falls at about waist level. It is very sturdy and is almost the same as the one above but with a few more details around the eyes and on the wings.
This one is selling on Amazon for .90 plus $1.99 shipping. Even with shipping costs you cannot find jewelry this cheap and good quality in stores.

So this has been my little Amazon haul, hope you enjoyed it.

If you would like to purchase any of these necklaces please use the links provided by clinking on the name of the item. By doing so I get a portion of the profits, thank you! :)

"Starbucks" Caramel Macchiato made in your own kitchen!!

That's right! Late afternoon in my very own kitchen I made this beauty ...

I.could.not.believe what I was tasting! This tasted just like the real deal, truly just like it!! This girl is happy!

Here's what I did:

Step 1: First brew a cup of coffee... the stronger the better (tastes more like Starbucks that way. They have VERY strong coffee!) If you have Starbucks coffee to brew at home use that ( tastes more like Starbucks that way ;) haha)

You want to brew enough to fill a tall cup about 2/3 full.

Set aside.

Step 2: Mix 1 cup of milk ( any percent you want.. if you want a "skinny" then skim is best) with 2 heaping tablespoons of caramel syrup.
Heat about a min or so. You want it to steam and be foamy.
Give it a good stirring to make it very foamy.

Step 3: Add milk mixture to coffee slowly. Give it all a good stir to blend.

Step 4: There is no step 4. It really is that easy!

Oh wait step 4 would be drink it and enjoy I suppose :)

Enjoy!!

My Nightly Routine

I have to confess something... I do not like to clean my face at night.
Do I like having a clean face? oh you betcha, but NOT the time it takes to wash makeup off, moisturize, etc. I do it, and so should you. Cleaning the day off of your face is good for your skin. Plus, having quality products, products you can see improves your skin makes the effort a little more worth it.
With this being said for Christmas I received a Philosophy face kit. I also received a goody bag of face products ( woo! I was so happy) My face washing experience is much more enjoyable now. :)

So now onto my nightly routine!

Gotta put the hair up. My hair has gotten super long lately (not sure what's making it grow but I am not complaining haha)

Next up it's exfoliating and cleansing!

Philosophy Microdelivery is amazing! It has the feeling of baking soda mixed with water, which is rough enough to make you feel it's exfoliating but not so harsh it hurts. I have super dry skin and after using most products my skin will get very tight, but after using this that has never happened. That's what I love about philosophy products, they are very moisturizing.

Next it's onto the Purity wash.
I adore this facial wash! The scent is not to strong an odor, goes on very smooth. It washes off nicely and also leaves my skin so soft!

I normally use the Microdelivery only once a day but the Purity twice.

Next after cleansing it is onto the eye cream

I received this eye cream in the goody bag I got for Christmas and LOVE IT! The results were almost immediately and I just adore this stuff! The one I have is VERY small but with only needing a small amount it will last awhile. I will be purchasing a larger one once I run out though.

After that I use my blemish cream.

This works well. I admit I sometimes use a dab of toothpaste on the blemish but mostly use this. The scent isn't like other blemish creams... this actually doesn't have much of a scent at all. I really like that because it can be super annoying when you use these kind of creams on a zit near your nose then your stuck smelling the nasty scent all night! Thankfully after applying this, I don't have to smell it while I sleep :)

Next up is applying the moisturizers.
I sometimes apply both but not always. Like I said my face can get super dry so on the days it's almost peeling from the harsh Maine winters I will apply both before bed.

These are my go to creams:

This is called a face lift cream. And honestly I have noticed my face looks... lifted. A little goes a long way with this stuff. Also much like the other products I use this hardly has a scent ( can you tell I am NOT a fan of scented face products... well, unless it's for the lips)

My other cream I forgot to take a picture of :( It was late.

Let's pretend the picture is right here though haha

This is a wonderful, barely scented, goes on smooth and doesn't leave your face feeling oily face cream.
I have used this for the past two years and when I run out and do not buy right away, you notice it in the condition of my skin. It is truly hope in a jar. :)

So after my face has been cleansed, moisturized and ready for bed or the day (whichever)
I lastly apply something to my lips

I use this when I cleanse in the morning because even though it is not as sticky as some lip glosses it is a gloss though and a little too sticky for bed.

For bedtime I like to use Two in One. I was told this was one of the inventions on Shark Tank. How cool is that?! I.LOVE.THIS.PRODUCT! It makes my lips soft and doesn't clump. It is made with beeswax, vaseline and other products but 100% natural. I received this for Christmas and it came in a box of 6 I believe. LOVE IT

So lastly I brush my teeth, brush my hair, braid my hair then get a glass of water and head to bed :)

Once in bed I apply a little hand cream

Works very well as an overnight hand lotion. Smells nice too :)

So that is it. My nightly (and morning) routine :)

Something exciting to share

No... not pregnant... sorry :( haha but I do have something interesting and exciting to share. My husband Matt has a youtube channel with new content coming each day. He has shows in the works (one being a cooking show brought to you by yours truly... oh dear! nervous!) The channel is called PyroTv ( pyrotv.net ) I am so proud of my husband. He works so hard and making films is a dream of his. He currently finished an anti-smoking short that is fantastic and you really should check it out.

( side note: This is my husband but he is NOT smoking in this video haha it was fake but the message that smoking kills is sadly very real)

Subscribe to his channel, watch the videos and share... it would make me oh so happy :D

A New Year, a 365 page book yet to be written

Can you believe it?!... 2012 has came to an end and 2013 has taken its place. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! 2012 was full of joy, laughter and love. It was another year with those I love, and I am thankful to the Lord for it. As I look ahead for the coming year I pray for happy memories to be made, fun to be had, those who are ill to get well, those who have not asked Jesus into their heart to do so, for my heart to care more, for a closer relationship with Christ, for ears to listen more, for eyes to be focused on what truly matters. I pray to give more, ask less. I pray to count my blessings more often and to spend more time in prayer.
I am excited to see what 2013 has in store.

With that, I am the type to set goals... not resolutions... I like to call them goals... they sound more achievable this way... :D

Here are my 2013 goals: (aside from my walk with God, family etc.)
- Read the New Testiment through. Not just to read it but to fully study it.
- To put more into my Good Morning Girls group. To start up a Bible study and see it through.
- Put more work into this blog. Upload posts more often... plan my time with it more wisely.
- Take better care of my body. Would I love to lose weight? you betcha! 50 pounds actually. Why not  set a goal for that? Well, because I fully believe a healthy body is much more important than a skinny body.
(a post about this coming soon! yay)
- Finally move our washer and dryer upstairs. This is a dream! haha seriously.
- Work on some home make-over projects I've been dreaming up. Master Bedroom, Sons Bedroom and our Bathroom. As well as fix up our side yard (back yard)
- Learn Piano (would be lovely)
- Get drivers license (29th birthday next month and yet to have it... a bit behind I know)

So, this is my big 2013 to-do list. Do you set goals or make resolutions? If so, I would love to hear what they are.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!  <3 p="p">

Some Updates and Such

Hi There, Happy Friday!

What I have been up to:

~Started my Fall Deep Cleaning this week. This year I decided to try a new approach. Past years I had a long list of to do's and everyday tried my best to get it all done in a week... by the end of that week I was stressed, burnt out and ready for a vacation! Deep cleaning plus raising a toddler and all my church duties thrown in the mix... it became over whelming! So... this year I planned for my deep cleaning to happen over a three week stretch with each day having a set two or three things to do and if I had one harder job then I put a smaller fast one with it. So far this has worked out fantastic!!! My home is getting clean!! Most of these chores can get done before my little one wakes up, and I end up feeling like I have accomplished so much because my to-do list was all checked off instead of having a mile long cleaning list and only being able to cross of one or two things a day.

~I babysat two days this week. I watch two of my nieces who I don't see very often and this gives me the opportunity to spend time with them and my son gets to have some buddies over to play with. I also like that I can help earn some money while still being a stay at home Mom.

~Football season has started! Go Pats :) For the past two Sundays I have been planning out tailgating style meals to enjoy while watching the game. All the Hubs favorites and he has loved it.

What I am watching:

~I would love to say Downton Abbey since it started it's season in the UK but sadly us fans in America must wait... I LOVE LOVE LOVE that show!

~I started the new show Revolution and wow! It was fantastic! Keeps you intrigued and wanted to see the next episode for sure!

~Finished Big Brother and sad Ian won... I do not think he should have... he was pretty much a floater. Dan didn't play the cleanest but he played AMAZING I think.

~19 kids and counting of course and the United Bates of America... but sadly I think the Bates show has ended... not sure why :(

~Rachel Ray's new season premiered on Monday. I think the new setup and look is GREAT! Much more comfy and cozy looking.

What I have been listening to:

~ The little one and I have been listening to classical Christmas on Pandora. I know, I know it's only September but it's classical so most of the time it doesn't sound very Christmassy just peaceful and calming.

~ Everytime we go somewhere in the car as a family we have been listening to Adventures in Odyssey. Such a great show.

What's been cooking in the kitchen:

~ I have been making cookies like a mad woman. I have the most wonderful chocolate chip cookie recipe that uses cornstarch and if you haven't tried a chocolate chip cookie made with cornstarch then you must... seriously you are missing out man! So soft, so chewy, so so gooooood! I have made milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white. Fun!

~Butternut Squash Pie. Tasted so much like pumpkin and very delicious. Easy to make too!

~ Made homemade BBQ sauce the other day... took minutes to whip up and tasted great!

This coming week I will be making... A special date night dinner for the Hubs and I. ( Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon with Risotto.) Pumpkin Muffins for the Sunday School, Bacon and Potato torte and Chick fIL A style chicken nuggets. yum!

So this is what's been happening here... Kind of a random post but hey I am a random person :)
